    Qualified candidates will possess a strong interest in automotive engineering.  Experience with electrification, vehicle dynamics, benchmarking or simulation is preferred.  Communication skills are highly important in this position and qualified candidates must possess high verbal and written skills.


    The Project Engineer - Vehicle Engineering will focus on vehicle applications including customer support, participation in the development of the AVL-DRIVETM tool, seeking areas of expansion, writing proposals for benchmarking & leading bench marking projects, mentoring when needed, and supporting the Vehicle team as seen fit. 

    The Vehicle Engineering skill team provides testing and analysis support for vehicle level topics such as benchmarking, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and vehicle development with respect to driveability, handling, NVH, energy analysis and ride comfort. The vehicle teams uses and supports tools for driveability, handling and ride comfort that are part of the AVL-DRIVE portfolio. The vehicle engineering team also acts as the AVL-DRIVE product team and is responsible for technical management of the North American AVL-DRIVE business. The team is responsible for supporting customer usage of AVL-DRIVE, internal PEI usage of AVL-DRIVE, and assisting the PEI business development team with growing AVL-DRIVE product sales.



    Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Employer will not sponsor an applicant for a work visa for this position.





    The specific roles of a Project Engineer - Vehicle in this effort include:

    • Supports the application and technical requirements of vehicle related projects including benchmarking, tool development and vehicle level development projects.
    • Expands the use of AVL tools into vehicle related topics to gain experience in system level response.
    • Plans and performs technical account management for AVL-DRIVE customers for the vehicle market: customer interaction via phone, email and onsite visits, coordinating customer benchmarks, training, and product rollouts.
    • Supports interaction between the local AVL-DRIVE team and the Graz AVL-DRIVE team: managing customer “issue” lists and coordinating customer interactions with Graz.
    • Supports specific phases of PEI vehicle application projects: executing predefined tasks (to be defined together with the project’s commercial and technical managers), and/or impromptu support during project execution.
    • Supports local PEI Business Development efforts including: pre-sales efforts, onsite customer presentations, proposal support, post-proposal follow-up, and oversight of commercial issues (pricing, deliverables).
    • Other duties as required to insure success of the AVL-DRIVE Product business.


    • Bachelor’s degree in automotive related engineering
    • 0-5+ years with vehicle applications/testing and/or vehicle drivability assessment
