    AVL Test Systems, Inc. is looking for highly motivated recent graduates and experienced professionals to join our team. You will gain invaluable experience through our Application Engineering Program to become an Application or Service Engineer at AVL. This structured development program will give you hands-on experience working with innovative technologies and a diverse customer base.

     

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION

     

    Commission test systems and integrate subsystems to meet complex testing requirements. Troubleshoot problems and develop solutions with appropriate input. Must be able to take charge of projects once on-site and drive to completion while working with Project or Service Management to manage to cost and time estimates while achieving a high level of customer satisfaction.

     

    HOW THE CAREER FAIR DAY WILL BE LAID OUT

     

    Apply on-line by September 28, 2018 for the “Application Engineering Program” position. Once resumes and supporting qualifications have been reviewed, invitations will be sent out to the top candidates. This full-day Career Fair includes (1) an interview with AVL Management, (2) a presentation from you, topic to be assigned later, and (3) a group activity to support your skill set.

    Responsibilities

    WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US

     

    You will be assigned a specific training schedule for the position and level you are hired for. Training can be in house, at clients, international, or at other AVL affiliate offices. We will provide guidance throughout the entire process and training period which can go from 6 months to 2 years. We expect that you are ready to perform your work and gain knowledge with on the job experiences.

    • Act as a liaison and company representative with customers.
    • Commission test cells or systems including:
    • Set-up and troubleshoot test and measurement systems
    • Implement and tune complex control loops
    • Integrate auxiliary equipment into test system
    • Set-up monitoring and control of relevant safeties
    • Create commissioning documentation
    • Provide training on system applications.
    • Obtain customer sign-off
    • Write and implement custom tests.
    • Provide technical support to the organization as well as to customers.
    • Develop and present training.
    • Travel required.

    Qualifications

    This program is designed to support the interests of new graduates to experienced engineers who want to start or advance their careers in the test systems engineering field. The positions require frequent travel and flexible scheduling. We expect candidates to convey their dedication, enthusiasm, and passion in their everyday work to aid in our current and future successes. Eager learners will thrive here!

    • Bachelor’s in engineering preferred or equivalent preferred.
    • Understanding of electrical and/or mechanical processes.
    • Good software skills.
    • Experience with emissions bench, fuel measurement systems and ECU/PCM controllers.
    • Able to read and understand electrical and/or mechanical schematics and drawings.
    • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Thorough knowledge of PC operation, structure, MS Windows, and computer networking required.
