  • Overview

    Following the established globally agreed processes between General Motors and AVL, provides engineering & application support to General Motors in Milford, primarily focused on AVL Drive software analysis.



    • Support General Motors during usage of AVL Drive software applications on-site at the customer
    • Perform system level troubleshooting and analysis of AVL Drive and other software issues
    • Act as an ambassador for the overall AVL toolchain with General Motors Calibration / Development Community

    • Support General Motors for calibration release of drivability related datasets

    • Conduct deep dive AVL Drive analysis on specified issues to demonstrate value of AVL Drive within General Motors Calibration / Development Process

    • Working with product teams in back offices to drive issues to resolution
    • Manage coordination and prioritization of customer issues within AVL
    • Lead specified activities with AVL and General Motors
    • Provide improvement input into the support process
    • Travel required


    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical or computer engineering or equivalent preferred.
    • Extensive knowledge of the AVL calibration toolchain (i.e. Drive, Creta, Cameo, Concerto, PUMA).

    • Completed course(s) related to AVL Drive, AVL PUMA test automation systems, Concerto, emissions, etc.
    • Ability to troubleshoot problems and find solutions to requirements by "thinking outside of the box".
    • Ability to analyze datasets to provide recommendations for improvement.

    • Deep knowledge in calibration process and dataset release.

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Understanding of electrical and mechanical processes.
    • Able to read and understand basic electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings.
    • Thorough knowledge of PC operation, structure, MS Windows, and computer networking required.
    • Working experience with test automation equipment preferred.
    • Experience with emissions bench, fuel measurement systems and ECU/PCM controllers preferred.
    • Understanding of internal combustion engine theory and operation preferred.
    • Visual C#, C++, ATL, COM/ActiveX, JavaScript programming languages knowledge
    • 5+ years experience in powertrain calibration

    • 3+ years experience in a software development and / or support environment.
