    General Description:

    The Manufacturing Intern assists the Manufacturing Engineer in the development of lean manufacturing tools and fixtures. In many cases the intern will assist the production technicians in their daily production tasks.

    The position is a summer intern position.




    The  Manufacturing Intern interfaces with the engineering team and works in depth on parts productivity improvement. The Engineering Intern assists the engineering team both locally and globally with productivity improvements.

    As local part of the global MMD team, the intern is responsible for the data entry into the SAP master data for the US operations and for ensuring master data creation is in line with the global master data specifications in SAP.


    The intern has the responsibilities of creating the initial job setup in SAP and also has the ability to provide assistance to the manufacturing engineer in the following roles:

    • Create material master data and manage changes to data for all materials and sales articles
    • Create and manage changes to work instructions in SAP system in accordance with globally defined workflow processes
    • Maintain consistent data management logic related to vendor, material, and customer data
    • Perform systematic and periodic reviews of existing master data to ensure correctness and completeness of data





    Required Skills

    • Engineering background with experience in manufacturing
    • Working towards Engineering Degree is mechanical or electrical Engineering is an asset
    • PC and CAD literate- with at least 2D AutoCAD or equivalent knowledge.
    • Experience with Solid Works is a benefit
    • Ability to work in teams as well as individually without supervision
    • Strong understanding of components and manufacturing
    • In Depth understanding of manufacturing processes
    • Experience in management of part number assignment
    • Strong computer/system-oriented skills, including SAP experience
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision in an unstructured environment
    • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work with multiple departments in high demand environment
    • Good written and oral communication skills
