  • Overview

    Manages business development and product marketing functions for the AVL line of power electronics, battery, and e-motor test systems, system integration services and related products.  This position is a key role in the organization with direct links to management at headquarters in Graz, Austria and high visibility to senior management in North America. 


    Please note that the right candidate will have an Engineering Degree, Product management, Electrifciation and Testing and Measurement experience.


    • Defines the market requirements
    • Coordinates with the Directors of Sales & Service in understanding customer and market needs.
    • Responsible for developing product marketing strategies and achieving sales goals within the application field.
    • Advises the Business Unit Directors and AVLNA President and staff on opportunities for both horizontal and vertical growth.
    • Provides market information that can be used to establish ROI and other justifying (or non-justifying) measures for internal R&D efforts.
    • Contributes to the total ‘team sales’ effort by providing technical and marketing support to product lines other than the ones associated with to meet corporate sales objectives.
    • Identifies promotional activities to develop a stronger AVL brand ID.
    • Presents the ‘customers’ voices’ internally within the company.


    • Bachelors degree in engineering (mechanical or electrical)
    • Ten years experience in the business development field
    • Direct industry experience in hybrid or electric vehicle and component development
    • Minimum five years supervisory experience
