  • Overview

    General Description:

    Commission test systems and integrate subsystems to meet complex testing requirements.  Troubleshoot problems and develop solutions with appropriate input.  Must be able to take charge of projects once on-site and drive to completion while working with Project or Service Management to manage to cost and time estimates while achieving a high level of customer satisfaction.

    Responsibilities

    Roles:

    • Support complex test cells, troubleshooting all AVL products.
    • Setup and Troubleshoot database systems
    • Setup and troubleshoot computer networks
    • Commission test cells or systems including:
      • Set-up and troubleshoot test and measurement systems
      • Configure complex software systems
      • Troubleshoot software errors
      • Write custom scripts
      • Set-up monitoring and control of relevant safeties
      • Create commissioning documentation
      • Provide training on system applications.
      • Obtain customer sign-off
    • Write and implement custom tests.
    • Provide technical support to the organization as well as to customers.
    • Develop and present training.
    • Travel required in an average of 70% (domestic and international)

    Qualifications

    Qualifications/Skills:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent expereince preferred.
    • 3 years’ experience in database and computer systems.
    • Java, C, or similar software programming expereince
    • Mongo, Oracle, SQL, Access or similar expereince
    • Good software skills.
    • Experience with testing labs
    • Able to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings.
    • Background in PC configuration and setup
    • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Thorough knowledge of PC operation, structure, MS Windows, and computer networking required.
