General Description:

Requires test system knowledge at an expert level.  Design and commission complex test systems and integrate subsystems to meet demanding testing requirements.  Background in Emissions testing and certification desireable.  Troubleshoot complex problems and develop solutions.  Must be able to take charge of projects once on-site and drive to completion while managing to cost and time estimates.  Ownership of large complex test systems.  Excellent customer skills.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Roles:

  • Act as liaison and company representative with customers.
  • Commission test systems including:
    • Setup and troubleshoot test and measurement systems
    • Implement and tune complex control loops
    • Integrate auxiliary equipment into test system
    • Setup monitoring and control of relevant safeties
    • Create commissioning documentation
    • Provide training on system applications
    • Obtain customer sign-off
  • Write and implement complex custom tests
  • Provide sales technical support.
  • Provide project engineering technical support.
  • Help desk consultation.
  • Develop and present advanced training.
  • Technical research.
  • Travel required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering or equivalent preferred
  • 5-7 years experience in test automation equipment preferred
  • In depth understanding of electrical and mechanical processes
  • Expertise related to testing methods and applications
  • Able to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics and drawings
  • Strong software adaption and modification skills
  • Background in internal combustion engine, powertrain, electrification or mobility research
  • Understanding of instrumentation and electrical processes
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge of PC operation, structure, MS Windows, and computer networking required
  • Personal protection equipment training
