Overview

Group Lead— Resident Controls for an independent company in Plymouth, MI engaged in the development of powertrain systems with internal combustion engines as well as instrumentation and test systems. Position is responsible for coordinating engineering program resources for the functional integration & optimization of powertrain software & controls systems for drivelines & transmissions for automotive customers and OEMs including serving as technical liaison with automotive customers and OEMs; reviewing engineering projects for compliance with engineering principles; performing technical studies, technical plans, failure mode analysis and data analysis & validation; planning and executing driveline & transmission performance research & development; coordinating design and development reviews; providing technical guidance and mentoring to technical staff and presenting technical reports to automotive customers and OEMs. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3 years’ experience in job duties as stated or alternatively a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 3 years’ experience conducting design analysis and simulation for driveline, transmission and chassis systems including performing system dynamics model and simulation for fuel economy, drivability, vibration, riding comfort and cooling performance analysis; developing plant model and controls algorithm for control software design and MIL, SIL & HIL testing.
